Young Franciscan Weekend Retreat in Victor Harbor (South Australia)

Friars John Spiteri (Brisbane) and Paul Winter (Sydney) made the long journey to Victor Harbor (about an hour's drive south of Adelaide in South Australia) to share with the local Young Franciscans a Franciscan approach to the Blessed Sacrament in a weekend of prayer, silence and fraternal joy.

The weekend was a follow-on from the first weekend held in February last year. Whereas last year most of the organising was done by the Secular Franciscans, this time the young people took charge of the event.

All in all, the weekend was a very successful one and would seem to assure the immediate future of these Franciscan weekends.

The Young Franciscans have been meeting regularly since their inaugural weekend in 1998 and will continue to do so in 1999.

If you are a young person, living near Adelaide, who is interested in sharing the Franciscan life with our young people then you can contact them at:
