Capuchin Friars Blessed with Vocations
12 December 2004
This year the Capuchin Friars in Australia have been blessed with young men in all levels of their formation programme. The journey of a young man to enter fully into the Capuchin Friars Minor walks through several stages which gradually build and develop his character into the heart and mind of a Capuchin Friar. He begins with the period called the Postulancy, then Novitiate, followed by Post-novitiate. We dedicate this issue to introducing you to each of these levels and the young men who are in them at the moment. The Capuchin Friars give thanks to God for the blessings of these young men to the Order and we thank them for their generosity and the gift of themselves to the Church and the Capuchin Friars in Australia. We ask that you keep them in your prayers and they journey through their formation to become Capuchin Friars.

Br. Lam makes his final vows
Br. Lam Vu pronounced his final vows on Sunday 12th December at St Anthony’s Shrine, Hawthorn. Over twenty concelebrants offered the profession Mass along with religious, SFO members, friends and the proud parents and relatives of Lam participated. Although warm, one could not have asked for a more pleasant day. Friends from the Vietnamese community prepared a fine luncheon which was served in Padre Pio’s hall. After spending a week with his family, Br. Lam will leave for Rome to do a two-month Italian course, courtesy of the San Francesco Association. Congratulations Lam! Our prayers are with you. May you have many happy and fruitful years in God’s vineyard as a faithful, humble Capuchin.
